Healthy Schools

We aim to encourage children to be active in choosing a healthier lifestyle.

Amongst the many initiatives the school has carried out:
- Healthy tuck shop
- Free access to water in school
- Road safety training for Key Stage 1 pupils
- Cookery club
- Healthy school meals
- Fire safety training for Years 2 and 6

Road Safety

We provide a structured approach to teaching young children to be safe outside the school environment.

Pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 take part in the ‘Rightstart’ programme.

Children learn about safer crossing and how to behave at the roadside through a mix of classroom activities and practical training.

Cycling to School

We have facilities for children to cycle to school and store their cycles on the school premises during the school day.  We have a ‘Cycling to School Agreement’ and a copy of this can be obtained from the school office.

All children need to wear a helmet and bring a sturdy lock with which to secure their cycle.

If you are interested in bringing your child on their cycle, please ask at the school office for a copy of the Cycle to School agreement.
